ABOUT THEM

brin nesryn (they/them) is a first-year graduate student in Critical Sexuality Studies at California Institute of Integral Studies. They are dedicated to anti-oppression studies, disability justice and liberation praxes. brin engages interdisciplinary literature on the complexities of community, unlearning/relearning, being with/in/of nature and resistance through creative acts of expression. They actively critique militarism, nationalism and colonial narratives drawing from lived experience as a dis/abled combat broadcast journalist, Air Force public affairs specialist and military sexual trauma survivor. brin engages with abolitionism, Black eco/feminist thought, disability literature, gender studies, queer theory and transgender history.
